It is our penultimate story of National Volunteering Week and one that shows how we can share our understanding of a heartbreaking situation to help others. Here is Carmel’s story
“Being a HUGG volunteer has been amazing. I lost my son, David to suicide 7 years ago. Going to a HUGG group was the best decision for me and my family. I felt so alone, but found understanding, support and friendship at the HUGG Group in Wicklow. As a HUGG volunteer, I have been able to help and encourage other people who have been bereaved by suicide to look to the future and find a way to move forward.”
