Welcome to National Volunteering Week 2024!  This year, we embark on a journey celebrating the essence of volunteerism under the theme “Uniquely Us”. 

As we kick off this week-long celebration, it’s time to reflect on the remarkable impact volunteering has on our communities and we are thrilled to share a collection of inspiring volunteer stories that exemplify the transformative power of giving back.

Here is Rosemary’s story

“I have been volunteering with MS Ireland in Leixlip for the last couple of months.
I assist the Yoga Teacher with her class.

I had to get Garda vwetted and do a Manual Handling Course for Carers to be eligible to apply.
I wanted to do something to help people and this fits the bill perfectly.

I enjoy my Wednesdays, 11.30am-1pm. It gets me out and about doing something worthwhile and giving back to the community.

The Yoga teacher Karen is lovely, as are the students with various mobility issues of MS.

I look forward to continue helping in the future. Thank you for this opportunity.
