It is our penultimate story of National Volunteering Week and truly shows that from every corner of the globe, people are getting involved in many diverse causes.
Here is Tetiana’s story:
“Volunteering has become a very meaningful part of my life and something I truly enjoy. Most of my time as a volunteer has been spent at Citywest Transit Hub as a Ukrainian Speaker Volunteer, where I’ve had the opportunity to support people and be part of a welcoming community. I also try to take part in other events and activities, such as Tallaween, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, Darkness Into Light, supporting local festivals, and volunteer information sessions – every experience has brought me joy and unforgettable memories.
For me, volunteering is about giving back to society, being part of the community, and making a positive contribution, even in small ways. I have gained valuable experience, developed new skills, and met many kind and inspiring people. What I appreciate most is the positive atmosphere – everyone is always supportive, friendly, and we genuinely have a great time together at every event.
Volunteering has shown me how important kindness, connection, and community really are. It is not only about helping others, but also about growing as a person and creating meaningful experiences together. I am very grateful to be part of such a positive and inspiring environment, and I hope to continue volunteering and encouraging others to get involved as well.”
