THE ALL NEW I-VOL IS LIVE We're really excited that the all new I-VOL is now live. In the new i-VOL, volunteers will be able to search for roles based on:
We're hoping this will lead to a much better user experience for the individual volunteer and assist them in making more tailored choices of volunteering roles. It should also enhance the visibility and attractiveness of your volunteer roles
Alongside this – we have created a new "organisation" search where a volunteer can search for a particular organisation and see all the roles that organisation has. Each organisation in I-VOL will have their own page. If you want to change any of the information in "about your organisation" or any of the details of the roles you have advertised, please feel free also to get in touch.
Strategic Plan 2020-24
2020 sees the Volunteer Centre celebrate 21 year since the set up of the original Tallaght Volunteer Bureau in 1999. We are delighted to mark this with the launch of a new strategic plan to guide our work over the next five years . Our new Strategic Plan, with its four strategic objectives, provides us with a clear framework to guide and progress our work over the next five years at local, regional and national level. Keep up to date on training and events happening within the Centre here including upcoming training in Garda Vetting and Volunteer Management. The link is constantly updated and we expect to be adding further training opportunities and details of our next Volunteer Managers Forum over the coming days.
Involving Volunteers In Festivals and Events
News this year that we are working in partnership with South Dublin County Council to develop a support package for voluntary sector event organisers across South Dublin County. The first stage was the development and delivery of a new training for organisations in The Essentials of Managing Volunteers at Festivals and Events which had its' initial roll out in February. Further dates are scheduled for May and September.
Dates for your Diary
National Volunteering Week 2020 is taking place this year from 18 to 24 May. The theme this year is Volunteering and Health and Wellbeing, and we are currently making plans for to hold events for Volunteers and for Volunteer Managers. More details to follow.
After the success of last year's Volunteer Recruitment Fair, we plan to hold this year's fair in October. For any initial enquiries, please contact Deirdre McNicholas at deirdre@volunteersouthdublin.ie

SDCVC is part of the national network of 29 Volunteer Centres affiliated to Volunteer Ireland. Core funding comes from the Department of Rural and Community Development with additional funding from South Dublin County Council. Our Mission is: to offer equal opportunities to all sections of the community to participate in meaningful voluntary activity.
